There are many exciting surprises coming very soon!
We all have that one (or more) family member that needs to get healthier and of course, the holidays won’t be helping either. You would love to give them a gym membership to get back on track but of course – you don’t want to offend them!
Here are our 5 Tips in doing so!
- Ask yourself – do they actually want the gift?
Have they been complaining about their weight or lack of strength? Have they been talking about going to the gym but it’s just that it’s either too expensive for them or that they don’t have the time? These indicators make it easy. They will definitely appreciate your gift!
- If they’re in denial…
Are they the type that will get offended if their weight is mentioned? How about their lack of strength? Casually tell them how working out or getting out more often has benefitted you or your friends and that though they look good in any shape, you would want them to be healthier and to have more strength throughout the day!
- Get them something that is not just for weight loss
Getting fit is not just about weight loss! It’s also about health and being a lot stronger. Get them a workout that doesn’t promote dieting as a partner in their journey to fitness. At Impulse, we believe that you can as much as you want as long as you work hard burn all the calories after!
- Get yourself the same gift and go with them!
Hit two birds with one stone and get healthy with them! If you also tell them that you’re going to workout and not just them, it makes them feel that you are not making fun of their weight but you emphatise with them as you also want to get stronger too!
- Don’t forget a sweet note
A sweet note with the gift explaining your intentions (powered by love, of course!) will make it all good!
Some of us have it, some of us don’t. You may not have it now, but you can just as easily develop some by tomorrow. It’s just nature’s way of creeping up on you with a pretty nasty surprise. And while there’s no cure for it yet, one thing you can do is prevent them from developing or reduce their appearance.
But first – what is cellulite?
You can be a bit on the chubbier side or you can be extremely skinny. Cellulite doesn’t choose! It is bumpy skin on certain parts of your body – particularly your thighs – which is caused when fat presses up against your vertical connective tissue. These surround fat cells under your skin and therefore create a bulge that results to that dimpling effect on your skin.
Here are a couple of ways to reduce their appearance:
We know you’re so tired of hearing this. But yes, it’s a must. And obviously, it’s key to a lot of good things for your body. Eat food that will help you flush toxins out of your body such as whole grain and fibre-rich food. Lots of fruits and veggies won’t hurt either.
Exercise, exercise, exercise
Go for exercises that target your areas that have cellulites. Squats can do wonders if done properly! Want a faster, more intense way of making those fat cells suffer? Go for Impulse Training. At Impulse Studio, you wear a suit that has pads that emit pulses – making each squat much more intense. It also activates the cells on your thighs!
Load up on H2O
Increasing your water intake daily will help your body shed its excess fat. Yes, including those inside cellulites!
Use a body scrub with caffeine as an ingredient regularly. It will help you break down the fat cells and tighten the skin around it. The best part? It only takes a few minutes in the shower and your skin will feel so smooth after!
Relax, get a massage
Stimulate those fat cells by massaging them. This can break the fluids beneath your skin down and will result to a more even appearance.
Use a firming product
Be it serum or lotion, make sure you hydrate and firm up your problem areas. But do remember that these products will never work by itself so don’t just slather it on and expect it to work ASAP. Hit the gym!
See you soon!
